The Challenge
AsBuilt was contracted for 3D modeling of an existing single-stand rolling mill using a previously generated point cloud.
The Solution
The client provided a point cloud to AsBuilt for review and conversion to a 3D model in Inventor file format. 3D modeling was used to convert the point cloud data into modeled shapes representing structural members, key equipment, utilities, and other relevant items. Models were then checked for accuracy against the point cloud and delivered to the client in the agreed format.
