AsBuilt of a Bin Hopper

AsBuilt provided point cloud development, solid modeling, and ultrasonic testing for a bin hopper, delivering accurate as-built data and ensuring compliance with owner specifications for hopper integrity and performance.

The Challenge
A facility required accurate as-built documentation and condition verification of an existing bin hopper to support ongoing operation and maintenance planning. Reliable dimensional data was needed alongside material integrity validation to assess the hopper’s performance and compliance with owner specifications.

The Solution
AsBuilt performed high-resolution 3D laser scanning of the bin hopper to capture precise as-is conditions, including all visible structural components and interfaces. The scan data was processed into a detailed point cloud and converted into a solid 3D as-built model. In parallel, ultrasonic testing was conducted on all required units in accordance with the owner’s specifications to evaluate material thickness and overall condition. The combined dataset provided both geometric accuracy and structural insight for informed decision-making.
